On April 23rd took place the launch meeting of the project <\/span>RhizocNEW<\/span><\/b>project, an innovative public-private research initiative that seeks to develop new sustainable strategies for the control of <\/span>Rhizoctonia solani<\/span><\/i> in potato crops. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>

Biocontrol Technologies<\/span><\/b><\/a> actively participates in this consortium with its specific solution for this crop: <\/span>RootDei Biocontrol\u00ae<\/span><\/b><\/a>a biofungicide developed to improve the health of the root system and reduce the impact of soil diseases such as <\/span>R. solani<\/span><\/i> in a sustainable and effective way.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>

RootDei Biocontrol\u00ae<\/span><\/b> is also one of the first biofungicides <\/span>first biofungicide approved in the Netherlands for the control of R. solani <\/span><\/b>R. solani<\/span><\/i><\/b> in crops such as <\/span>potato<\/span><\/b>. This authorization reinforces its role as an innovative and effective tool within the new European schemes for sustainable plant protection, providing real solutions for both conventional and organic crops.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The RhizocNEW project brings together key entities from the agricultural sector in the Netherlands including research centers such as <\/span>Wageningen University & Research<\/span><\/b><\/a> which is coordinating the project, farmers’ associations such as <\/span>BO Akkerbouw<\/span><\/b><\/a> which is leading the project, potato breeding and marketing companies such as <\/span>HZPC<\/a><\/span><\/b>organic farmer <\/span>organic farmer such as <\/span> Mts. Twisk <\/span><\/b><\/a>and companies specializing in cover crops and organic fertilization such as <\/span>Vandinter Semo<\/span><\/b><\/a>, <\/span>Joordens Zaden<\/span><\/b><\/a> <\/span>y <\/span>Darling Ingredients<\/span><\/b><\/a>.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>

Over the next four years, the project will evaluate new combinations of cover crops, antagonistic microorganisms (such as RootDei Biocontrol\u00ae) and soil management techniques, with the aim of reducing the impact of <\/span>R. solani<\/span><\/i> in a sustainable and effective manner. These strategies will be integrated into a <\/span>integrated crop management (ICM)<\/span><\/b>offering viable alternatives for both conventional and organic farming.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>

The participation of Biocontrol Technologies<\/strong><\/a><\/span> highlights the usefulness of RootDei Biocontrol\u00ae<\/a> within these new biological control schemes.<\/span> within these new biological control schemes, providing experience and applied knowledge in the <\/span>experience and applied knowledge in the development of microbiological tools for plant protection. <\/span><\/b>We share the commitment to move towards a more sustainable agriculture, based on scientific knowledge and collaboration with other agents in the sector.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>
