In a recent meeting, the University of Barcelona<\/strong> promoted a space for dialogue and exchange with its spin-offs, highlighting their role in generating innovation and boosting the university technology ecosystem. Biocontrol Technologies<\/strong> actively participated in this day to strengthen technology transfer in the field of sustainable agriculture<\/strong>.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>

The meeting organized by the UB<\/strong> brought together more than twenty <\/strong>spin-off companies <\/strong>, with the aim of sharing experiences, analyzing common challenges and generating synergies that enhance joint growth. The University reaffirmed its institutional commitment to strengthen university-industry collaboration as the backbone of innovation and knowledge transfer. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>

During the session, representatives of spin-offs presented their trajectories, business models and needs in consolidation phases. Key aspects such as sustainable growth<\/g>, intellectual property protection<\/g>, fundraising<\/g> and exit strategies<\/g> were addressed. In addition, the metaphor of“cockroaches vs. unicorns<\/a>” was presented to situate different growth profiles among university startups. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>

For Biocontrol Technologies<\/strong>, this event was a valuable opportunity to interact with other science-based initiatives, share best practices in the development of biological products for plant disease control and explore avenues of collaboration. The active participation of our technical teams provided specific perspectives from the agronomic sector and enriched the debate with applied biocontrol proposals. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>

The meeting closed with a networking lunch, favoring the establishment of contacts and alliances between the spin-offs assisted by the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation<\/strong>, which acts as the UB’s transfer office<\/strong>. The UB announced that its spin-offs already generate more than 227 jobs<\/strong> and attract significant investment, which is evidence of the economic and social<\/strong> impact of the university spin-off<\/strong> model. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>
