Biocontrol Technologies receives a grant from the Government of Catalonia

Biocontrol Technologies has received a grant from the Government of Catalonia through ACCIÓ, the Agency for Business Competitiveness, within the framework of a project aimed at the development and validation of an innovative solution for the control of soil-borne diseases.

The grant has been formally awarded under the programme managed by ACCIÓ and is channelled through the “Biocatalysed Substrates” project, developed in collaboration with the University of Barcelona. This initiative aims to assess the viability of a patent and its potential to become a commercially applicable product in the field of plant health.

The project focuses on the study of solutions based on biological technology for the control of soil-borne pathogens, one of the main challenges affecting crop productivity and sustainability. The technical and economic validation of this technology will support its transfer to the market and facilitate its future implementation under real cultivation conditions.

This grant represents a boost to Biocontrol Technologies’ research and development activities and strengthens collaboration between the business sector and the academic environment. It also highlights the importance of institutional support to foster innovation and enhance the competitiveness of the agri-biotechnology sector in Catalonia.

With this project, the company continues to advance its commitment to the development of sustainable solutions based on microorganisms, aimed at improving soil health and promoting more efficient and environmentally friendly agriculture.
