Biocontrol Technologies has obtained in France the first authorisation for RootDei Biocontrol®, the company’s biofungicide registered under this specific name for the French market. The authorisation, granted by ANSES (the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety) on 26 February 2026 under AMM number 2260040, permits the use of the product for the control of soilborne fungi other than Pythiaceae on a range of field crops.

RootDei Biocontrol® is formulated with the T-34 strain of Trichoderma asperellum as a wettable powder, with a concentration of 1×10⁹ CFU/g. Its mode of action is based on rhizosphere colonisation and antagonism against soilborne fungal pathogens, acting preventively to protect the root system from the earliest stages of crop development. The product is exempt from maximum residue limits and carries no pre-harvest interval, facilitating its integration into both conventional and organic production programmes.

Authorised crops

The authorisation covers the following crops for soil application in open-field conditions:

01

Potato

Solanum tuberosum

02

Carrot

Daucus carota

03

Turnip

Brassica rapa

04

Lettuce

Lactuca sativa

The authorised crops, target diseases, application rates and conditions of use are defined by the current national registration in each country. Please consult the product label in the ANSES E-Phy register.

Application conditions

The product is applied directly to the soil at a maximum dose of 250 g/ha, with a single application per growing season. The official technical data sheet is available in the ANSES E-Phy register.

This new authorisation broadens Biocontrol Technologies’ regulatory presence in France, a market where T34 Biocontrol® already holds a wide range of authorised uses across multiple horticultural crops. RootDei Biocontrol® is thus established as an independent registration with its own AMM number, reinforcing the biological tools available to French growers for the sustainable control of soilborne diseases. Biocontrol Technologies thereby continues its regulatory expansion strategy across Europe, with the aim of providing effective, authorised solutions tailored to the needs of each market.
