Biocontrol Technologies consolidates its presence in Denmark with expanded uses for Asperello®
Biocontrol Technologies announces a significant expansion of the use of its phytosanitary product Asperello® in Denmark. With this new expansion, the company positions itself as a key ally for Danish farmers in their fight against plant diseases and their pursuit of more sustainable agricultural practices.
The product has been marketed in Denmark since July 2022 (read the news article about it here), under registration number 1038-1, authorised by the Danish Ministry of Environment(https://eng.mst.dk/chemicals/pesticides/find-authorised-pesticides-new-bmd). This recent authorisation will allow the use of the product on strawberry and berry crops, including blackberries, currants, blackcurrants, raspberries, blueberries and a variety of wild fruits in open fields.
This approval represents a significant step forwards for the company in its mission to offer effective and sustainable solutions to Danish farmers.
Asperello® has been authorised to combat diseases caused by Phytophthoraspp. and Pythium spp. two pathogens that severely affect these crops. With this new authorisation, Danish farmers will be able to use Asperello® to protect their strawberry and berry crops, a category that includes a variety of crops of high economic and cultural importance in the region.
The list of authorised crops includes:
Fragaria × ananassa
Strawberries
Raspberries
Fruits of the Rubus genus, such as blackberries, raspberries and mulberries
Bush Fruits
Berries such as blackberries, berries of the currant genus
Other native species
Fruits such as blueberries, acidic berries and many other native species of Denmark
