The APEVC GIP Group promotes the transfer of knowledge in a training session on pathogenic fungi and beneficial microorganisms
Within the framework of the Annual Technology Transfer Plan (PATT) 2026, the Syngenta Room of the EEABB has set the stage for the technical conference “Fong management in green countries: organizations to control allies in management”, a training activity organized by the GIP Group of the Association of Professionals of the Green Spaces of Catalonia (APEVC) and aimed at technicians and professionals in the sector.
Dr. Maribel Trillas, professor emeritus of the University of Barcelona and founding partner of Biocontrol Technologies, will participate in a presentation on beneficial microorganisms, species and soils, addressing the potential of these biological agents as an eina for the sustainable management of green spaces.
The day will also include the interventions of Josep Maria Riba, doctor in Biological Sciences and phytopathology assessor, who will deal with the main problems in green countries; Andrés Septién, arboriculture consultant and European Tree Technician, who will address the xylòfag fungi in urban trees; i José Javier Sigüenza, consultant in arboriculture and manager of Baobab Engineering Plant, who will delve into the most common fungal diseases in palm trees.
The act will be presented by Xavier Fàbregas, director of the EEABB; Joan Guitart, president of l’APEVC; i Monica Bedós, GIP assessor and member of the GIP APEVC Group. The cloenda is going to join Sandra Las Heras.

The Escola d’Enginyeria Agroalimentària i de Biosistemes de Barcelona (EEABB) is a teaching center of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) located on the Baix Llobregat Campus, in Castelldefels.
