Biocontrol Technologies was present this week at DLG Feldtage 2026, held from 16 to 18 June in Bernburg, Germany, one of Europe’s leading trade shows for crop production professionals. Santiago Liebana, from the BCT commercial team, attended the event visiting the Equilibrium, stand — a company working alongside BCT to develop the German market — where Heinrich Wilhelm represented RootDei Biocontrol® on behalf of Biocontrol Technologies throughout the three-day event.

DLG Feldtage brings together more than 20,000 European agricultural professionals every two years, with a program focused on crop protection, fertilization and field agricultural technology. This year’s edition, built around the theme «Pflanzenbau out of the Box», placed particular emphasis on innovative and sustainable solutions for the major strategic crops of central Europe, among which potato (Solanum tuberosum) holds a priority position.

RootDei Biocontrol®:

Biological protection of the root system in potato

The primary soil-borne fungal pathogen affecting potato cultivation is Rhizoctonia solani, responsible for black scurf and stem and stolon canker, with direct impact on crop yield and commercial quality. To address this phytosanitary pressure, RootDei Biocontrol® (Reg. no. BVL 00A933-00) offers a biological solution formulated with Trichoderma asperellum strain T34, a beneficial fungus that acts through multiple modes of action directly targeting the pathogen while also delivering positive effects on the crop root system.

With a single in-furrow application at sowing, RootDei Biocontrol® protects the crop throughout its entire cycle and contributes to improving both the quality and number of marketable tubers. The FRAC (Fungicide Resistance Action Committee) classifies Trichoderma asperellum strain T34 as a fungicide with multiple modes of action and no resistance generation (FRAC code BM02), reinforcing its fit within long-term integrated pest management strategies.

RootDei Biocontrol® holds authorisation in Germany for the control of Rhizoctonia solani in potato and has expanded its registered uses to other broad-acre crops including fodder beet, carrot, lettuce and turnip, consolidating its position as a biological soil protection tool in the German market.

BCT’s participation in DLG Feldtage 2026 reinforces the commitment of Biocontrol Technologies to the international expansion of RootDei Biocontrol® and to providing technical support to sector professionals across Europe’s key markets.
